We were asked to film the launch of the new Soul Padel UK court at Decathlon Stockport, capturing the opening day as visitors were invited to try the court for free. The aim was to document the atmosphere of the event, the energy on court, and people’s first reactions to playing padel. Music, open sessions, and a steady flow of players created a lively setting throughout the day. Jonathan Pierre from The Athlete’s Blueprint assisted on the day, helping gather quick run and gun style interviews with players and visitors to capture their feedback and first impressions of the new facility

The final video captures the launch day from the moment players stepped onto the court, showing rallies, reactions, and the overall atmosphere around the venue. Interviews add personal insight from people trying padel for the first time, giving the video a natural and authentic feel. The content has been used by Soul Padel UK to promote the new court, highlight the launch event, and introduce more people to the sport

Behind the lens...

Filming was carried out using handheld cameras and gimbal rigs to stay mobile around the courts while capturing the pace of play. A drone was also used for aerial shots of the venue and surrounding area to establish the location. The shoot was filmed by Joseph Rapacchietta and William Heath, working across the venue to capture gameplay, interviews, and the atmosphere of the opening day
