The brief...

Create a cinematic aerial content library for a Sales Manager at Savills focused on showcasing Liverpool across marketing material, presentations, and social media campaigns

The project covered major landmarks and commercial areas across the city, including the Liverpool Waterfront, Royal Liver Building, Hill Dickinson Stadium, Lime Street Station, Castle Street, the Waterfront Museum, Liverpool’s shopping districts, and the university quarter. Content needed to work across both widescreen and portrait formats, with flexible delivery options for digital and social use

The result...

Drone footage was delivered in both 4K wide and portrait formats

The final visuals combined large-scale establishing shots with tighter compressed views to give the city depth, scale, and movement. Warm colour grading was applied throughout to give the footage a consistent look and a polished commercial finish

Alongside the master 4K and 2K deliveries, additional 1080p portrait exports were created and optimised for social media use. All assets were supplied through Google Drive for quick internal access and distribution

Behind the lens...

Filmed using a DJI Air 3S with 24mm and 70mm focal lengths, allowing for a mix of wide cityscape shots and more compressed perspectives that brought the Liverpool skyline and landmarks closer together in frame. Footage was captured in D-Log M to preserve dynamic range and allow greater flexibility during the grade

Filming started at 6am with sunrise shots at the Royal Liver Building and Hill Dickinson Stadium to capture softer light and quieter scenes. Daytime filming followed across the remaining landmarks to maintain natural activity and balanced lighting throughout the city centre

The waterfront and dock areas were also filmed during sunset and into dusk, capturing the city lights beginning to glow across the skyline and reflecting onto the water. These shots added a more cinematic feel to the final library and gave the content the kind of atmosphere that performs well across social platforms
