The brief...

To capture the Adaptive Grandslam trekking challenge in the Brecon Beacons, we filmed in first-person vlog style, combining on-route camera shots with aerial drone footage. The goal was to showcase the journey, the scenery, and the personal experience of participants, while highlighting the supportive, inclusive environment of the AGS community. At the request of AGS founder Martin Hewitt, we also included interviews with beneficiaries to capture their thoughts and reactions. Footage needed to be engaging, authentic, and suitable for social sharing and event promotion

The result...

The video follows Adaptive Grandslam participants along the route, combining close-up, on-the-ground shots with aerial views of the mountains. It highlights both the supporters and beneficiaries, showing their journey, interactions, and the atmosphere of the event. The final edit was shared by AGS across social channels, inspiring the community, encouraging participation in future challenges, and inviting new members to join

Behind the lens...

On-route shots were captured using handheld cameras and gimbal rigs, with a drone providing wider establishing views. The vlog-style approach allowed us to film moments naturally while staying unobtrusive, so participants felt at ease. In post-production, we focused on smooth transitions between ground and aerial footage for a very cinematic piece
